Now Hiring! Bookkeeper / Accountant

Locations: Marietta, GA 30068 (on-site)

Schedule: 20-24 hours/week (days/times are flexible)

Job Summary:  The Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant will ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices and allocate expenses properly between the company’s various locations. This position will maintain all accounts payable files in an orderly and chronological fashion.  

What You’ll Do :

• Reviews, pays, and submits vendor payments
• Acts as the liaison between UTM and vendors
• Responds in timely manner to vendor inquiries
• Records expenses accurately among locations
• Prepares analysis of accounts as requested
• Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and monitors discount opportunities
• Pays most bills through Truist’s online banking but company is considering using Bill.com
• Completes projects and work assigned by CFO and Partners, both timely and accurately
• Uses QuickBooks and other Office software proficiently to accomplish tasks
• Collects tournament revenue and expense summaries, charges customers appropriately and provides reimbursement expenses to the payroll administrator
• Prepares and records journal entries

Ad Hoc Responsibilities:

• Works with site personnel to verify accuracy of bills as needed
• Assists senior accountant with month end close
• Escalates issues to CFO as needed
• Performs filing and copying
• Mails/distributes signed checks as required
• Deposits checks when received in corporate office
• Completes various annual forms (i.e., census, annual business license renewals, etc.)

Communication and Confidentiality Requirements: 

• Cooperates and effectively communicates with peers
• Maintains confidentiality with all financial information regarding the company and employees
• Proactive nature regarding resolution of issues as they arise

What You’ll Need :

• High School graduate; some college preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable environment
• Basic Accounting and Accounts Payable knowledge
• Proficient user of Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks
• Ability to multitask and organize daily workflow
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage deadlines effectively
• Able to quickly assimilate and retain new information
• Effective communication skills and inquisitive nature
• Knowledge of Bill.com a plus (company is looking into using Bill.com)
• File maintenance, organization, and retention
