Job description
Batteries Plus is hiring a Device Repair Technician / Store Associate. The ideal candidates will be comfortable with small electronic device repair, exhibit retail sales skills, possess excellent customer service and relationship building skills, demonstrate a basic understanding of electronics, and possess an ability to communicate with co-workers.
This position offers the ability to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new opportunity with Batteries Plus. We are always growing and prefer to promote from within. In addition to the repair technician responsibilities, the successful candidates will also be a team member responsible for selling all of the products associated with the Batteries Plus Bulbs operations.
Device Repair Technician Duties:
- Repair cell phones, tablets, light fixtures and other devices as needed
- Receive, pack and ship these devices
- Maintain proper inventory
- Participate in formal training of store associates to include tearing down devices, taking photos, assisting with video training production.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations; wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Device Repair Technician Qualifications:
- Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent
- 1 year customer service experience preferred
- Demonstrated technical aptitude. Able to quickly pick up on new processes and technologies without a lot of guidance
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to effectively manage and track multiple commitments; effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both oral and written. Strong customer service focus. Abilities to inform, teach, and train are valuable.
- Working conditions are typical for a store/warehouse environment, with some tasks (i.e., live store support) being done in a traditional office setting
- This position requires the employee to regularly use hands to handle or touch electronic products
- The position also requires the employee to regularly use a computer and other office equipment
- This position requires lifting 10-30# on a regular and frequent basis, 50# on an occasional basis, and more than 50# on an infrequent basis.
Store Associate Duties:
- Greet and direct customers
- Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
- Answer customers' questions about specific products/services
- Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing
- Cross-sell products
- Ensure racks are fully stocked
- Manage returns of merchandise
- Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times)
- Inform customers about discounts and special offers
- Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services
Store Associate Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role
- Understanding of the retail sales process
- Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
- Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
- Basic math skills
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- High school diploma
- Ability to lift 50Lbs
- Ability to install automotive batteries
