Reports To: Technical Support Supervisor Raley Lund

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation: Hourly

Summary

The Technical Support Specialist is a member of the Installation and Technical Support team. Responsible for the product design and execution throughout the design and installation process, including gathering customer requirements and working closely with engineering, sales, design, and manufacturing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Promotes the Companys mission and values based culture through expanding product offerings while maintaining a high standard.
  2. Create and work claims from incoming customer calls and e-mails
  3. Provide technical advice to customers, Designers, and Engineers
  4. Advise field personnel on repair techniques and current problem solutions.
  5. Interface with Quality, Manufacturing, Design, and Engineering regarding reoccurring field problems.
  6. Production Audits as required
  7. Maintain knowledge of all Porter Corp product lines but may also have unique specialized knowledge on specific products.
  8. Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience




Travel

When appropriate, to meet with customers and suppliers off site to investigate non-conformances, facilitate implementation of corrective actions and improve business relationships

Other Requirements

  1. Must possess and utilize a knowledge of the manufacturing processes of the company.
  2. Knowledge of customer quality requirements and reasons for establishing these requirements
  3. Must have working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and their proper application to problem solving.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate through both e-mail and telephone
  5. Proficiency of technical aspects of Porter Corp. products
  6. Able to work with minimal supervision
  7. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
