Job description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the development of the short-range forecasts as used by ITC Holdings for forward looking Attachment “O” as well as for operations planning.
Assists in the development of the long-range forecasts used in planning reliability studies for each service area on a macro and micro basis.
Assures Quality Control (QC) for databases used for each of the several forecasts.
Monitors and attempts to influence policy issues and regulatory activities at various Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO’s), that may have an impact on the company's business objectives.
Provide support and coordinate closely with strategic planning team working on utility Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) responses and other strategic studies.
Performs special analyses to support legal and regulatory filings and other litigation.
Makes presentations/reports/other deliverables to Senior Management, key stakeholders and regulatory body staffs, Federal and State, in support of the forecasts and related analytical/research projects.
Interacts with consultants as need arises to improve deliverables and administer relevant company initiatives.
Investigates issues having significant impacts on the economic valuation of transmission expansions, e.g. models used, Economic Impact studies etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education; Master's Degree is preferred.
Coursework related to statistical/mathematical modeling, corporate finance, energy policy, engineering, business cycles and forecasting is preferred.
Minimum five (5) years economic modeling, energy consulting or related experience.
Academic or on-the-job project work in application of statistical methods to the estimation of economic models and testing of economic hypotheses including use of analytical statistical testing to determine model reliability.
Proficiency in MS Office analytical tools, familiarity with a statistical modeling software package such as R, STATA, SPSS, SAS or Python is desired.
Accessing and using computer information systems with large volumes of data is a plus.
Ability to create a team environment where employees are motivated to perform at a high level.
Ability to manage complex interpersonal situations, achieving a win-win result.
Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with individuals at various levels and technical levels inside and outside the Company.
Ability to work under minimal supervision while appropriately keeping others informed of activities and issues or potential issues.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to travel out of town as business needs required.
