Located in Akron, OH, the Assistant Treasurer, Global Operations will report directly to the  Vice President & Treasurer. The Assistant Treasurer will be responsible for all operational aspects of Treasury. This includes global cash management, foreign exchange/ interest rate derivative strategy & execution, treasury related reporting & disclosures, short-term cash forecasting, repatriation/ funding planning for Goodyear subsidiaries, and development of near-term funding needs based upon business forecast

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Review/Analyze business unit operating plans, forecasts and other sources of financial information to determine the company’s near-term funding requirements and to ensure adequate liquidity to meet day-to-day worldwide operational/strategic business needs. Review capital structure of company subsidiaries and work closely with the Tax department to develop tax efficient repatriation and funding strategies.

• Ensure risks to the business related to interest rates and foreign currency are measured and addressed appropriately. Work closely across company business units/functions to assess and forecast foreign currency exposures and potential impacts on earnings/cash flow. Develop, recommend and implement approved foreign exchange hedging strategies to mitigate currency impacts on cash flows/earnings. Responsible for global banking and cash management operations (including the coordination of operational activities with regional treasury operations) in Europe, Asia and Latin America). Ensure the company establishes and maintains appropriate insurance policies to address property, casualty and legal liability risks related to its businesses.

• Evaluate/Implement new technologies and products and services that improve the cash cycle, processes and internal controls. Oversee investment of excess cash ensuring protection of principal and liquidity. Ensure successful execution of financial reporting for Treasury activities and financial transactions (including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act [SOX} requirements).

• Support capital market activities (including public debt/local affiliate financings and other initiatives) to enhance shareholder value and strategic Treasury and company objectives

• Work closely with the business unit leadership teams on (strategic) business projects (as necessary). Must be able to work well in a (dynamic) team environment - providing fresh viewpoints and a wide-range of consultative advice from a business, finance and treasury perspective. Be a trusted/respected advisor to the business units. Maintain an excellent relationship with the company’s banking partners (both commercial/investment banks and credit rating agencies) - ensuring the company continues to receive superior support/services from its partners

• Develop talent for the Treasury/ Finance organization (including recruiting of university graduates and development of professionals within the business). And ensure a strong performance management process - Aligning individual objectives with business metrics and connecting performance against compensation/career progression objectives.

KEY EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

• Bachelors Degree. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

•10+ years of progressive Finance and Treasury assignments, with at least 5 years in senior treasury role(s).  International experience is highly desirable. 3-5 years experience in treasury operations & technology (banking, liquidity      management, cash positioning) and foreign exchange/ interest rate derivatives. Track record of achieving measurable business objectives in ambiguous, complex situations.

• Leadership, analytical, organization, persuasive/negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

• Project management skills, balanced with solid strategic thinking/ innovation mindset. • Experienced in managing a highly performing team, developing talent for the organization as evidenced by advancement and success of team members.

• Technical acumen. Up to date on treasury, banking, risk management products with an ability to link external-internal dynamics.
