Job description
BTI is seeking Asset Managers to join our team for a rewarding and challenging opportunity to provide asset management support to USDA customers deployed across the nation. The Asset Managers will be part of a team to provide a centralized service to handle all serial number tracking and licensing assignments for information technology (IT) related support requests and operational equipment assets designated for remote USDA user sites. Our goal is to have a highly efficient and effective process of tracking USDA serialized assets and issuing licenses as required for operational use.
The Asset Management Specialist will maintain a complete and accurate inventory of all assets, serial numbers, and licenses acquired and/or deployed into production environments at USDA Remote sites. This includes identifying and locating assets to include tracking, verifying, assigning, issuing, and posting asset serial numbers and license number details into an assigned Cisco cloud portal. Responsibilities
- Maintaining and managing the overall designated USDA Asset Management process.
- Maintain and review asset serial numbers and licensing requests.
- Establish and perform Quality Assurance (QA) measures for Asset Inventory Control (IVC) tasks and processes.
- Maintain and control the asset licensing assignment process within the Cisco Cloud Portal.
- Conduct perioding reviews of assigned USDA equipment baselines to ensure accuracy and proper inventory control are accurate and correct.
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation.
- Attend weekly team status meetings to review on-going efforts and discuss issues/concerns.
- Ensure that all equipment transfers, issues, and turn-Ins are handled appropriately per documented and approved processes.
- Support and conduct annual inventory audits at customer and contractor’s asset configuration processing site.
- Prepare and provide weekly, monthly, and annual asset management summaries and reports.
- Monitor inventory equipment shipments from the government warehouse facility, the contractor’s asset configuration facility, and customers’ destination receiving sites.
- Serve as IVC Point of Contact (POC) for asset tracking of serial numbers and licensing requests and status.
- Update asset device inventory status on the Cisco Portal.
Core Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (flexible)
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- Proficient with MS Office particularly Excel spreadsheets.
- Able effectively and efficiently track and monitor assets.
Desired Qualifications
- Cisco Asset Management Portal experience
- Having knowledge of basic IT asset
- Have some basic knowledge of Cisco Access Points, Routers and Switch hardware models.
- Able to lift IT equipment up to 30lbs to assist team as needed.
Education and Experience: BA degree preferred with 2 years of experience. HS degree with 8 years of experience as an asset manager can be used an alternate.
