TITLE : Lead Software Developer
LOCATION : Maryland Heights, MO
JOB SUMMARY: Design, develop, modify, enhance, and implement software systems designed to support new or existing business initiatives utilizing development tools and language-based specific technologies within designated frameworks. Write code, including web applications, software, and applications for project assignments and provide recommendations to peer-review coding sessions. Perform unit and integration testing and provide recommendations to peer teams and leadership on best practices and solutions from test case results. Design and configure customer-based systems and applications and advise project teams on architecture, strategy, and ancillary IT processes, including networking, security, governance, quality assurance, and database/server administration. Troubleshoot to resolve incidents and problems for production applications, including web services, billing, and service activation and provisioning to adhere to requirements under identified Service Level Agreements. Triage defects and project deliverables through analysis to diagnose and fix operational difficulties. Maintain subject matter expertise in web and web API development, domain architecture, industry tools, and trends to give strategic recommendations and provide technical support. Set strategies and tactical implementation procedures for all aspects of projects within the software development lifecycle. Provide strategic consultation in the areas of development, integration testing, domain architecture, and high-level project roadmaps to implement solutions for IT initiatives and projects for business and customer facing telecommunication systems. Coach and mentor developers by advising on writing code and technical documentation. Develop software with object-oriented programming using Java and J2EE to design, code, develop, and test software applications. Work with relational databases utilizing SQL and PL/SQL. Perform web service development utilizing Microservices. Perform unit test frameworks using Junit and Power Mockito. Utilize Spring MVC, including Java platform with Spring, to build and develop enterprise web applications. *This position does not supervise any subordinates directly. The position's supervisor, IT Manager, supervises the employees directly.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. Must have 3 years of experience developing software with object-oriented programming using Java and J2EE to design, code, develop, and test software applications; and utilizing Spring MVC, including Java platform with Spring, to build and develop enterprise web applications; 2 years of experience working with relational databases utilizing SQL or PL/SQL; performing web service development utilizing Microservices; and performing unit testing frameworks using Junit or Power Mockito.
