Summary

The College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering’s (CTAAE) - School of the Built Environment (SBE) at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is seeking a full-time, renewable Qualified Rank Assistant Teaching Professor (non-tenure-track) for the Construction Management program. The individual will teach undergraduate courses in construction management in one or more areas of (depending on expertise): Construction Surveying; Construction Materials and Testing; Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Systems in Buildings; Estimating and Cost Control; Construction Safety and Health Management; Construction Scheduling. In addition to teaching, the individual will focus on supporting collaborative partnerships between the Construction Management Department, student organizations, business, industry, and government. The successful candidate will have the skills to initiate and coordinate outreach activities with construction companies for the purpose of educational interaction with our students and the development of financial support. The expected start date is August 12, 2024.

Housed within the College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering, the School of the Built Environment offers a transformative experience for students who seek to engage in design-build innovation, and the creation of exemplary places, structures, and systems with the goal of shaping the future of our built environment. The SBE is comprised of the Department of Architecture and Environmental Design and the Department of Construction Management, two units with established histories, collaborations, and synergies. Our program remains distinct because we require three (3) paid co-op experiences, which typically transition into full-time job opportunities upon graduation.

The Construction Management program enrolls over 200 students and offers the following degrees and a certificate:
