THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing, directing, and coordinating all accounting, banking, and financially related activities for both IDEAL ELECTRIC and Gulf Electroquip/Red Claw LLC. Your responsibilities will extend beyond traditional accounting tasks, as you will also be involved in automating accounting and business functions to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.

FINANCIAL PROCESSES
- Manage accounting personnel in Ohio and Texas
- Prepare monthly P&L and key indicator reports
- Support plant management by interpreting financial data and delivering actionable recommendations
- Ensure accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Collaborate with plant management and cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenditures
- Create monthly journal entries and allocations
- Compile monthly bank reconciliations
- Report monthly sales tax and create required payments
- Manage tax-exempt status of clients
- Process daily cash receipts and application
- Prepare year-end reconciliation and reporting
- Create journal entries and year-end adjustments
- Create invoices and distribute them to clients
- Manage the collection process, including individual company statements
- Manage capital equipment and calculate depreciation
- Coordinate tax preparation, prepare 1099’s and other reporting with external accountants
- Coordinate responses to inquiries from federal and state agencies, etc.
ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS AUTOMATION
- Project management, discovery of parameters, writing and implementing of accounting and business processes, and automation
- Manage accounting functions of the ERP System, Infor Visual Manufacturing
OTHER DUTIES
- Ensure the company has liability and property insurance coverage reported to various entities as required
- Other duties as assigned
YOUR EXPERTISE
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles in a standard cost environment and project costing
- Strong foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Use of an ERP system (exposure to VISUAL Enterprise is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in general computing, using Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to set priorities, work independently, and bring issues to resolution
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
- Annual Salary ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 based on experience and proficiency
