Oversees all aspects of the quality management function for a hospital or other healthcare facility. Develops plans designed to improve the overall quality of the organization's facilities and patient care services. Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with JCAHO, HIPAA, and other accreditation standards. Responsible for planning and directing quality policies, programs, and initiatives. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management. The Chief Quality Officer is responsible for planning, administration, and monitoring of consistent readiness of all quality management, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement processes for all departments of the hospital, and hospital owned clinic efforts to monitor and maintain compliance with all regulatory, State, Federal and Joint Commission on Accreditation of HealthCare Organization standards. Scope of responsibilities include, Risk Management, Infection Control, Quality and Medical Staff Office.

Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent experience or Bachelor's Degree in related field.

Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience.
Knowledge of the principals of TJC and other regulatory standards.
Ability to adapt to change and work under stressful situations.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in Quality Improvement activities.
Computer knowledge.

Licenses|Certificates:
Required for RNs: Current licensure in professional nursing from the New Mexico State Board of Nursing or compact RN license
