Job description
The VP of Construction - Developer is a senior-level position that is responsible for leading the construction, development, and management of multiple projects. The VP will take the lead in overseeing the entire construction and development process from concept to completion. The VP will ensure the projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. This position will have direct accountability for the performance of the projects and be responsible for managing key relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and construction of projects, including conceptual designs, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Manage the bidding process, including evaluating bids, selecting subcontractors, and negotiating contracts.
- Oversee project activities, such as monitoring financial performance, safety, and quality control.
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
- Manage key relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and address potential areas of risk.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies, local governments, and community partners.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in engineering or construction management.
- 5+ years of construction/development experience in General Contracting, Project Management, and/or VP roles.
- Senior Project Manager/Sr Project Manager experience is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of construction/development projects, including Type-5, Mixed-Use, Residential, Commercial, and Apartments with podium.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems.
