Job description
Overview
The Accounts Payables Clerk will work closely with and provide support to the accounting team. This person performs a variety of invoicing tasks. The position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive invoices from vendors
- Match invoices to purchases orders and ensure that the documents have the appropriate approval signatures per the Financial Signing Authority Procedure
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Enter invoices into the ERP system verifying the appropriate accounts are being charged
- Print checks & obtain the appropriate signatures
- Prepare checks for mailing
- Organize receiving paperwork from the scale house for incoming materials
- File open invoices & paid invoices in the appropriate cabinets
- Communicate with vendors regarding their invoices and payments
- Verify the accuracy of the data entry of receipts and invoices
- Verify if an invoice contains taxable items and if tax needs to be accrued
- Attention to detail, organizational skills and good time management
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Understanding of basic Accounting (i.e. Debits, Credits, Accruals,)
- Work well in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
- Minimum 2-year accounting experience, prefer AP experience
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and learn/use Microsoft Dynamics GP
- EPICS MRP and GP systems experience, preferred
- Education level, High School required
