Job description
This position is responsible for both tactical and strategic vision and execution of supply chain activities. Advanced knowledge of sourcing, supply chain, and business acumen. Makes recommendations to support and enhance sourcing and supply chain functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Organize the purchase execution through experience with ERP/MRP Systems with PO placement and confirmation.
- Analyze MRP exception reports (pull, push, cancel) and reschedule previously released orders to respond to changes in the Master Production Schedule or customer demand.
- Verifies d emand and compares standard cost/quoted job cost to the supplier pricing. Mitigates price increases, negotiates price decreases.
- Expedites material from suppliers to meet the master production plan.
- Maintain material due dates for upcoming and past due needs.
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered and resolves shipment discrepancies from suppliers.
- Manage the to tal life cycle of inventory through maintenance of E&O.
- Manages optimal inventory levels and develops a plan to increase inventory turns.
- Assist in implementing and phasing in Engineering Change Notices.
- Comply with Company SOP's.
- Maintains strategic relationships with suppliers and execute purchasing agreements and contracts.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of inventory control, purchasing and manufacturing/production planning.
- Proficient Experience in an MRP system
- Willingness to negotiate and build relationships with suppliers.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with a team / Strong Interpersonal skill.
- Assertive, multi-tasking, team player capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Bachelor's Degree or a combination of work experience and education preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in Purchasing and/or Material Planning Management, preferably in manufacturing
