Patient Accounts Representative/Specialist
HeartPLUS Diagnostic Clinic/Celestial Health & Wellness Jackson, MS is a multi-specialty interdisciplinary private healthcare practice since 2014 that strives to provide integrative care with focus on optimal care of the heart, body and mind via the latest interventions in cardiovascular care , general medicine disease prevention, nutrition, therapeutic medical massage with physical therapy and behavioral health care. To join our growing team, we are seeking a highly-skilled, motivated and preferably experienced or trainable staff member for the following job opening:
Patient Accounts Representative (entry level) / Specialist (experienced).
##Patient Account Representative/Specialist: ($13.00 - 18.50/hr)##
Duties:
- Review and process patient accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Verify insurance coverage, review coverage policies, and obtain necessary authorizations
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resubmit as necessary
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance coverage
- Collaborate with medical coders to ensure accurate coding of procedures and diagnoses
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Assist with medical collections and payment arrangements
- Backup coverage of front desk medical receptionist duties when required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and coding systems
- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
