COMPANY OVERVIEW
Foley Entertainment Group manages the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights, the IFL’s Vegas Knight Hawks, the Dollar Loan Center and several other entertainment and hospitality-focused entities. The Dollar Loan Center is a 6,000-seat multi-purpose venue located in Henderson, Nevada that will host a variety of events including sports, concerts, family shows, community programming and private events of all types. The Dollar Loan Center is the game day home of the Henderson Silver Knights, The Vegas Knight Hawks, The NBA G-League Ignite, and The Vegas Thrill.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Security is responsible for all safety and security operations of the Dollar Loan Center. The position reports directly to the SVP of Operations for the Dollar Loan Center but will also work diligently with the Director of Safety & Security for the Vegas Golden Knights. The role will provide facility security and oversee all risk management efforts on behalf of the Dollar Loan Center, while maintaining the highest level of guest service. Top candidates will have a proven track record of developing comprehensive safety, security, and emergency preparedness strategies, along with developing programs and measures for events, facilities, and key assets.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership and direction to the Security Manager and all full-time/part-time security personnel.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with Henderson Police Department, Nevada Highway Patrol and any other Local, State or Federal agencies with oversight of the venue’s operation.
- Oversee a 24-hour security operation for the Dollar Loan Center during both event and non-event hours of operation.
- Manage all shipping and receiving processes for the facility and team(s) within the venue and all associated documentation and record keeping for package delivery.
- Provide staffing estimates and invoicing for all public and private events.
- Provide all risk management efforts for the facility, working closely with company insurance providers, to mitigate and manage any guest/employee injury claims.
- Regularly inspect common areas to prevent any hazards, ensure proper safety procedures are followed and provide documentation of any security, fire, or safety deficiencies.
- Ensure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing secure zones within the building (Photo ID badges and credential passes)
- Assist facility operations staff in securing any area during an emergency and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related collaborative tasks as needed.
- Assist with and/or lead the creation and implementation of various safety and security training plans.
- Assist with and/or conducting annual, semi-annual, or bi-annual safety and security refresher training.
- Achieve a working knowledge of Black Knight Sports and Entertainment business lines, assets, policies, operations, people, and objectives.
- Lead operational risk management activities as related to the physical security and safety of the venue, employees, fans, athletes, artists to enhance the value of the company and the brands.
- Understand the regulatory and operational practices of the venue and provide advice and assistance to the President, COO, General Managers, and others.
- Identify division specific security goals, objectives, and metrics consistent with corporate strategic plan.
- Participate in brainstorming, idea generation and budget/operations planning to set priorities and goals for each year, solve identified problems and prioritize/plan activities.
- Assist in vetting outside resources; reviewing security contracts; overseeing investigations and assisting with crisis/incident planning and response.
- Help to identify appropriate security technologies and solutions that will positively impact operations, fan experience and business objectives.
- Oversee compliance and maintenance of security incident records; provide documentation in support of incident response as needed and analyze trends.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Expertise in the proper staffing levels required for traditional arena-style events.
- High-level understanding of principles and practices of safety, security, and risk management.
- Excellent proficiency in utilizing windows-based security software, such as CCTV, access control, visitor management log in/out and fire/life safety systems.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of venue security management, first aid and emergency response protocols for a similar type sports & entertainment type venue.
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate large projects simultaneously.
- Maintain awareness of new developments and trends in the field of security and risk management.
- Strong working knowledge of risk management and OSHA regulations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field, but experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of Eight (8) years of professional experience in event security, crowd management or another relevant field.
- CPR / AED and First Responder Basic Training
- Proven experience in managing personnel in a similar leadership role.
- CPP Certification (certified protection professional) preferred, but not required.
- Must be an intelligent, articulate, proactive and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of a dispersed team.
- Must be able to discuss, evaluate, and negotiate security-related concepts with a broad audience of technical and non-technical staff.
- Must be highly flexible, creative, comfortable with ambiguity, and committed to win-win solutions to complex issues.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND/OR DUTIES
- Ability to work in dark, bright, smoky, dusty, cold and/or confined spaces.
- Comfortable kneeling, carrying, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Must have the ability to perform continuous physical exertion as needed.
- Able to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time on hard surfaces.
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. as needed for short distances.
- Comfortable working around large crowds.
- Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Execute other job duties as assigned.
