ABOUT THE POSITION:
As a Batch/Compound Technician you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient production of cosmetic products. You will be responsible for measuring, mixing, batching and compounding raw materials according to specified formulas and procedures to meet quality standards and production schedules. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in batching and compounding of raw materials according to batch formulation and production schedules, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
Accurately measure and weigh raw materials using precision scales and equipment, following specified formulas and batch instructions.
Prepare and transfer raw materials to mixing vessels or blending tanks, ensuring proper sequencing and handling to achieve consistent product quality.
Operate mixing equipment and blending systems to homogenize and mix batch formulations, monitoring process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and mixing time.
Perform in-process quality checks and visual inspections of batch formulations to ensure consistency, integrity, and compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
Clean and sanitize equipment, including mixers, scales, and pumps, and work areas before and after batch production, following standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and sanitation protocols to ensure proper functioning and prevent cross contamination.
Label and package batch samples for quality control testing and retain samples for future reference and analysis.
Document and maintain detailed batch production activities, including raw material usage, lot numbers, batch records, and production logs, accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in inventory management by monitoring and replenishing raw materials and packaging supplies as needed.
Follow safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment and comply with industry standards.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and packaging, to coordinate batching schedules and resolve any production issues.
Education:
Experience:
Strong ability to accurately measure and calculate and weigh ingredient quantities.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements for cosmetic production.
Attention to follow detailed instructions, batch formulations, and standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to ensure product quality and compliance.
Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate mixing equipment and blending systems.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy bags, drums, or containers of raw materials.
