Description
SAIC is seeking an individual with a desire to work in the acquisition of technologies to identify and interdict weapons of mass destruction. The position will support the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD) in Washington D.C. This position is remote, but candidates must be local to the DMV area. The candidate will provide technical and engineering support throughout the systems engineering life cycle- from conceptualization through acquisition and deployment.
The position’s primary responsibility is to support one or more acquisition program management offices by providing systems engineering support along with a team of engineers and scientists of various skillsets and experience. Assist with defining critical operational issues and viable solutions from requirements development, through DHS and federal acquisition processes, into deployed operational systems throughout the United States. A strong understanding of engineering concepts and methods, as well as acquisition lifecycle requirements will allow the candidate to be successful in this role. The position will also spend time working with other contractors, Government representatives, and commercial equipment vendors working with the Government.

- Develop operational concepts, requirements, and supporting documentation to provide justification for the customer acquisition decisions.
- Conduct and maintain Configuration Management of the program technical baseline
- Conduct mission analysis to define technical requirements and interfaces, provide analysis of alternatives, guide development, evaluate expected performance against requirements and mission needs, and support calibration activities
- Lead Lifecycle readiness reviews to demonstrate the design meets all specifications and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including senior executive officials, DHS component offices, development contractors, and end users.
- Conduct risk management processes and methods for identifying and adjudicating program risk; Conduct analysis to identify program risk areas and recommend/implement
- Develop briefings and assessments to a variety of audiences, and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS and 3 years of related experience; Masters and 2 years of related experience
- Must be US Citizen with active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain DHS Suitability prior to starting work with our team
- Experience in systems integration and systems engineering
- Experienced with technical analysis from requirements promulgation to final operating capability
- Experience supporting Government contracting activities
- Relevant DHS or DoD experience
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing requirements and tasks
- Possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters of Science in engineering, science or related technical field
- Experience in large Government systems acquisition
Target salary range: $85,001 - $95,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
