Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Support Specialist, specializing in Medicare Part B coverage. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting both our valued clients and healthcare providers, including physicians and other medical professionals, in navigating inquiries related to Medicare Part B drug coverage and prior authorizations.

Top 3 Required Skills/Experience:

2-4 years of experience in Specialty and/or Retail Pharmacy.
Proven background in a provider/member call center or helpdesk setting.
Proficient in processing prior authorization requests.
Required Skills/Experience:

In-depth knowledge of specialty prescription drug names, NDC drug codes, therapeutic classes, and claims processing is highly preferred.
Previous experience in a Call Center or Helpdesk role.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both providers and members.
Analytical skills for evaluating written, faxed, and verbal inquiries, potentially leading to the entry of medical authorizations into our online provider-facing web tool.
Preferred Skills/Experience:

Familiarity with Prior Authorization processes for Medicare Part B specialty medications.
Understanding of NOC drug pricing.
Knowledge of Medicare Guidelines and Timeframes.
Familiarity with pharmacy and/or medical claims processing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
Education/Certifications:

High School Graduate or GED equivalent required. Two (2) years of college preferred.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) is preferred.
Work Environment:

This position offers the flexibility of full remote work.
There might be occasional requirements to work in our client's locations in case of internet or system issues preventing remote work.
As a Pharmacy Helpdesk role with both incoming and outgoing calls from members and providers, the ideal candidate should have a designated, noise-free workspace conducive to safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
