Job description
Sharp is looking for a motivated Staff Accountant who is eager to learn and take ownership of assigned areas. The Staff Accountant is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of key balance sheet areas, preparation of account analyses and reconciliations, recording of journal entries, and various monthly, quarterly, and fiscal financial reporting.
Sharp is best in class, in terms of closing in two business days. This allows us to focus on value-added activities for the remainder of the month, such as account reconciliations, research into reconciling items and more analytical review of balance sheet accounts and related processes.
- Maintain the monthly Solution Sales settlement and update process in SAP. Lead Solution Sales monthly team meeting for update and project review for proper recording of deferred Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)/Revenue.
- Create and/or enter monthly journal entries as assigned, including recurring entries.
- Prepare general ledger account analysis and account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of the account balances, including required support, and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Review and process accounting adjustments based on analysis, review, and reconciliation of accounts within area of responsibility.
- Fixed assets liaison with corporate finance team.
- Support the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant throughout the monthly close process.
- Prepare reports, schedules and other documents required for both internal and external audits.
- Assist in the preparation of the quarterly consolidation reporting to the parent company.
- Perform special projects/requests, as required by supervisor.
- Identify areas of internal control weakness and report findings to manager.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree - Accounting or related field of study.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook and intermediate to expert Excel skills required.
- Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Warehouse, or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) required, OneStream a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and leadership skills required.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly via telephone and/or other collaborative applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
- Experience with a corporate finance organization is desirable.
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, confident, and motivated professional.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results while functioning well in a team environment.

Compensation for this position
The compensation range for this role is $55,840-86,800. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
