Job Description and Duties
Anticipated Interview Dates: Virtual interviews are anticipated to start the week of April 8, 2024.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

This Instructional Designer position will provide consultation and support for Web-based course/content design, development, evaluation, testing and deployment through GoLearn, CalPERS Learning Management System (LMS). Other duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Providing design and technical support for GoLearn
- Serving as a subject matter expert to departmental administrators and consulting with training presenters, subject matter experts and other staff in areas relating to instructional design
- Evaluating, troubleshooting, and effectively using graphic software to develop eLearning content for a variety of needs
- Documenting and maintaining internal policies and procedures to support training administrative processes

Statement of Qualifications

1. Describe any knowledge or experience you might have in relation to any of the following:
- Using and/or providing technical support for a Learning Management System (LMS) or similar automated tracking system
- Designing, developing, implementing, and managing eLearning/Web-based training programs
- Using rapid eLearning tools and related software such as Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, etc.
- Instructional design, adult learning concepts, and accessibility requirements for web content
- Website development languages and tools
- Other knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience that make you a competitive candidate for this position based on your review of the duty statement
2. Describe any experience you have leading or participating on teams with peers and managers to complete a project or provide a service to customers or other stakeholders. Based on your given role on the team, how were you able to facilitate conversations with the other team members and ensure that everyone was collaborating effectively to achieve the common goal?

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience working in a digitally collaborative environment using technology platforms like SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
- Knowledge of eLearning and/or design software, including Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, and other apps within Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience designing and delivering training to various audiences using blended delivery types (in-person, eLearning, virtual, etc.)
- Skills in design, implementation, and management of training programs
- Ability to provide technical LMS support including consultation, troubleshooting, and testing/evaluation for Web-based training content
