Job Description and Duties

Under general direction of the Manager, Acquisition and Development Branch, the incumbent is a mechanical/electrical/control engineer responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the Project Development Section.  Incumbent supervises Senior specialists and entry level engineers in reviewing and supervising contractor lead design, construction, operations and maintenance, and permitting with site owners/operators and state/local agencies. Act as a DWR representative for negotiations, development &  execution for contracts for new and existing generation resources, development of procurements, and coordinating& reviewing technical reports. In addition, ensure policies and standards for operations and maintenance developed by facility operators are consistent with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendations and site owner procedures. Act as a lead for site comprehensive assessment practicality and feasibility for additional generation capability.
