Job Description
Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide mechanical design support for all Kruger product lines. Duties include: preparing, creating and revising proposal, submittal and fabrication models & drawings, fabrication assemblies & bill of materials, assists with fabrication cost estimation, contract document and specification review.
Job Description:
- Responsible for production/revision of proposal, submittal, and fabrication level drawings with manager and/or peer acting as reviewer/checker.
- Produce Installation Manuals with manager and/or peer acting as checker.
- Assists with peer review for other Mechanical Design group members.
- Works directly with fabrication vendors during fabrication to resolve project specific issues.
- Works directly with fabrication vendors during fabrication or inspection to improve standard designs.
- Assists with fabrication cost estimation efforts for new and existing products.
- Takes lead role in development of standard products with manager and/or peer acting as checker.
- Reviews contract drawings and specifications during sales phase of projects to identify discrepancies/concerns/opportunities and provide clearly written comments to release internally or directly to the client and/or consulting engineer.
- Reviews contract drawings and specifications during the submittal phase of projects to identify discrepancies and take necessary action.
- Performs/aids with acceptance inspections of fabricated equipment or field installations, potential for ~10% travel.
- Utilize a task management system designated by the group manager to schedule and prioritize project and project development tasks.
- Initiate and collaborate work with interdepartmental Improvements.
- Helps to innovate methods/procedures to improve group efficiency.
Qualifications
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- 2-4 year Technical Degree or Bachelor’s Degree recommended (preferably Cad, Design Tech or Engineering Tech).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design and manufacturing environment with full understanding of key product data (CAD models, drawings, BOMs Process Plans, Manufacturing Work Instructions, etc.).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Lifecycle Management system business administration. Prefer PTC Windchill PLM.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality or Equipment/Tool design role.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with 3D CAD modeling systems. (Preferably Creo, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.)
- Ability to perform technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- High initiative, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Competent with Google Suite products
