Job description

A configuration analyst is an individual who analyzes engineering and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex application problems. This person analyzes changes in product design to determine the effect on the end product design and function and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change. A configuration analyst ensures that the production and delivery of hardware and software systems are completed according to schedule and properly transmitted to manufacturing systems. Configuration analysts must also work with the project management and development team so that they can ensure proper change processes and software baseline schemes.

Essential Functions: 

n

n
• Analyzes engineering and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems.
n
• Analyzes changes of product design to determine the effect on the end product design and function.
n
• Works with MRP system after drawing releases to update information.
n
• Maintains accurate document identification and status accounting records via various Excel logs;
n
• Ensuring contractually required data markings/statements are specified on relevant Program documentation;
n
• Gathers and maintains monthly metrics of on-time, late and early CDRL submittals per program;
n
• A-size drawings (including DOORS documents) and Technical Manuals (TMs) which also comprises major Program briefing TMs (PDRs, CDRs, etc.).
n
• Creating and maintaining documentation for tools used to support configuration management.
n
• Monitoring all configuration management processes.
n
• Providing user support and troubleshooting issues with the relevant configuration management software.
n
• Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].
n
• Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.

Qualifications:

n

n
• Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience; or minimum of 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
n
• 0-2 years of related experience
n
• Prior experience reviewing, updating, and auditing documentation or in an industrial configuration management activity
n
• Prior experience using computer/network-based documentation systems
n
• Working knowledge of relevant design-engineering standards, manufacturing processes, configuration management and documentation
n
• Knowledge of the MRP process and at least one MRP tool.
n
• Good time-management, planning and organization skills
n
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
n
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
n
• Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with Company personnel, customers, and suppliers
n
• Excellent written and communication skills
n
• Excellent experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
n
• Frequently required to sit, and to reach to use computers and other office equipment
n
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
