Job description
This is a 3-6 month contract position with the potential to go permanent based on business needs.
The Patient Access Clerk (PAC) will be responsible for triaging mail, faxes, and emails for the PA and RCM departments. The PAC will work closely with members of the Patient Access, Revenue Cycle Management, and Clinical Services Departments daily. This is an administrative position, requiring an individual who is detail-oriented, analytical, focused, service-oriented, and responsive with a willingness to help. This position encounters high volumes of transmissions and some protected health information, therefore, the candidate must carry out these functions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities:
- Open and process all mail.
- Triage and distribute all correspondence to their respective departments.
- Process and scan all checks and virtual debit cards.
- Pull faxes and triage correspondence received in the department.
- Review BV requests for accuracy and email clinics for missing information.
- Check the department email for requests and address items that need resolution.
- Ensure patient charts are updated with new information received via fax or email.
- ly liaise with Clinical Services, RCM, and other members of the Patient Access team to support their functions related to BVs & PAs.
- Always comply with HIPPA and all other applicable regulations as well as CND's policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- 1+ years of computer data entry experience in a medical billing office required.
- Perform duties in a highly compliant and professional manner.
- High attention to detail and highly accurate documentation of information.
- Strong customer service skills to be used in internal communications with the RCM and Clinical Services teams.
- Strong analytical skills to organize data, interpret data and to enable problem solving.
- Excellent poise and professionalism in verbal and written communication.
- Strong ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic team environments.
- Excellent time management.
- Strong ability to multitask.
Education, Certifications & Licensures:
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
Other:
- Ability to use computers, software, and related platforms.
- Must possess the ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to work onsite at the Company's Scottsdale, AZ headquarters approximately five (5) days a week.
