Job description
The purpose of the Foodservice Sales Manager (FSM) is to be responsible for assembling and directing the team of Foodservice Sales Developers (FSD) and Foodservice Business Advisors (FBA) to meet the company’s sales / market penetration strategy for QSR and C-store market sectors. The FSM forecasts regional revenues and coordinates the sales team’s efforts to meet those goals. Must be effective at closing key business goals, as set by the Foodservice Program Manager. This role will establish trust, build relationships, and close on key business quickly while leading the team. Candidates for this position need to reside in the greater Western WA/OR areas based between Bellingham in the north, and Salem in the south. This position is not managed from afar.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises the Foodservice Sales Developers and Foodservice Business Advisors within their regional areas.
Working Conditions: Work requires travel, primarily in assigned region with roughly 40% overnight (two days a week average). The average week would likely include 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days with field personnel.
Compensation $75 -130K combination of salary + bonus potential first year

Essential Job Functions:
- Growth in Regions’ foodservice gross profit
- Achievement of marketing/manufacturer program objectives
- Achievement of specific product line penetration targets

- Continually train and develop sales staff and maintain consistent training programs
- Implement clear concise performance measures for each employee and conduct regular evaluations
- Ensure that the company’s “go to market” strategies are successfully implemented and maximized by the sales department performance
- Ensure that Foodservice Sales Developers meet or exceed sales, new account, new QSR, and gross profit goals
- Inspire sales team to maintain a positive attitude and adapt to organizational changes
- Work with Foodservice Program Manager to plan regional revenue/margin forecasts and carry out objectives
- Set targets for new customer account acquisitions and implement strategies to secure the business
- Design Regional Foodservice sales department expense budget and forecast. Meet forecast targets
- Work with Foodservice Sales Developers to ensure that regional sales targets are met
- Hire, train, and coach Foodservice Sales Developers and Foodservice Business Advisors as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of general business principles, relationship building and new business development
- Knowledge of sales and marketing — knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstrations, sales techniques, and sales operations
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of professional selling skills and experience in training and coaching professional sales staff
- Skilled in effective communication and strong selling skills. Effective negotiation skills are a must
- Skilled using a wireless technology, a PC and Microsoft Suite Products, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
- Skilled in critical thinking — using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Skilled in active listening, giving full attention to what other people are saying
- Ability to present oneself professionally (ex. neat and well-groomed appearance)
- Ability to make effective presentations and communicate to a wide variety of customers

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or Psychology
- 3 years’ experience in a high-level field sales management position foodservice and field sales management in retail/wholesale/QSR and C-store strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years in a field sales management and leadership role with a team.
- 2-5 years’ experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Must be willing to show proven results from past employment opportunities.
License and Certifications:
- Maintain a current and valid driver’s license
- ServSafe Manager Certification (must obtain within 60 days of hire)
