Description

Lead activities including budgeting, resource planning, project management activities, and peer reviews for the purchase and implementation of manufacturing integrated equipment, systems, and processes. Provide technical consultation, leadership, and advice to managers, manufacturing personnel and other functions, and lead the process of working with outside suppliers. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives including capital, daily operations, and organization structure. Utilize digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment, and performance to make data driven decisions before changes are made and to drive continuous improvements as part of Manufacturing Analysis Led Design. Apply prognostics techniques by collective real time equipment conditions and then use advanced analytics and artificial intelligence technologies to project future failures to eliminate unplanned equipment and systems down time. Participate in Data Mining to extract insights from data by identifying relationships and patterns through the use of a suite of data exploration and data visualization techniques to understand the underlying structure of the data and enable sound conclusions upon model building. Provide technical support for machining lines including CNC programming with FANUC controllers. Work with Programmable Logic Controllers, controlling automation, between operations. Integrate product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the design and development of an optimal manufacturing process that meets product design specifications. Demonstrate capability in organizing and improving the steps of how workflow should occur by using the current documented Cummins processes and key practices used to drive improvements within the business to show a common framework for manufacturing functional excellence within the company. Perform equipment/capital procurement to select manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs. Champion and model proactive health and safety fundamentals to improve health and safety in order to contribute to an injury-free workplace.

Experience and Education:

Positions require a Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Controls, Systems, Electronic, or Manufacturing Engineer, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience as a Controls, Systems, Electronic, or Manufacturing Engineer, or related position. Experience to include: Continuous improvement initiatives; Manufacturing Analysis Led Design; Artificial intelligence technologies to project future failures; Data Mining; CNC programming with FANUC controllers; Programmable Logic Controllers; Equipment/capital procurement; Health and safety fundamentals.
