Job Summary
HMC Marketing Coordinators focus on fulfilling HMC's vision: to be a nationally-reorganized leader in our markets, connecting growth, innovation, diversity—and the best people – to design vibrant, healthy communities. This creative, forward-thinking individual will support the marketing efforts and messaging for our 83-year old firm. They will be charged with crafting compelling stories and effective marketing collateral aligned with HMC's vision that delivers value to clients. They will act as a strategic partner and be responsible for implementing marketing strategies and processes in partnership with the marketing team to accelerate top-line growth and differentiation in the marketplace.
Marketing Coordinators assist with the development of architectural pursuits to further market-specific and firm goals. Requires thorough knowledge of administration and professional services marketing methods and techniques and ability to assist the marketing team's efforts to craft compelling content. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or Architecture or other applicable degree program is required
- Marketing experience for architecture, engineering, or construction company preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign) is required
- Additional skills in full Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Lightroom, After Effects) is a plus
- Working knowledge of database programs such as Deltek Vision and Axomic OpenAsset is preferable
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and work well with a variety of staff
- A self-starting and results-oriented outlook
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
- Ability to take ownership of a project and see it through to completion
- Visually literate with strong verbal and graphic communication skills
- Well-developed writing skills
- Capable of working productively in a team setting, as well as independently
- A strong work ethic, flexibility, and a creative approach to problem-solving are essential
Responsibilities:
Proposal and Pursuit Presentations (55%):
- Work closely with the marketing team, Champions, and PICs to develop deadline-sensitive deliverables such as proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, and award submissions
- Prepare content for statements of interest and qualifications, proposals, SF330 forms, collateral materials, miscellaneous marketing, and marketing-oriented correspondence, etc.
- Work with staff to plan, prepare, write, design, and produce proposal and presentation materials for potential clients
- Write, edit and compile content from various sources into cohesive marketing materials, including cover letters, resumes, boilerplate information, project descriptions, etc.
- Write, edit, research, QC check data related to all marketing material (e.g., resumes, project descriptions, boilerplate narratives, graphics, photography, client information)
- Help develop text for marketing material by interviewing project personnel and reviewing existing documentation
- Conduct research, coordinate consultant materials, customize project profiles and team information and customize graphic layouts
- Work closely with Marketing team to create compelling and easy to read proposals
- Create and assist in PowerPoint presentations for interviews or conferences
- Create leave-behinds and presentation materials for pursuits
Marketing Maintenance and Organization (25%):
- Maintain marketing databases (experience in Deltek Vision a plus)
- Coordinate and work with marketing and project teams to archive and document projects, resumes, and technical reports within the Deltek database, Echo (intranet), and Axomic OpenAsset
- Create and update marketing materials such as process sheets, project lists, project reference information, resumes, industry and market segment information, and various other marketing documents for use in Pursuits, Awards, Thought Leadership, etc. across marketing server, CRM database, and Open Asset
- Regularly reviews all standard marketing materials to update and maintain the most current and accurate information
- Update narratives and data for project descriptions, staff resumes, proposals, and presentations
- Maintain matrices, lists, and statistical information relevant to HMC
- Manage submittal documents/material
- Develop and design brochures, qualifications, and other graphics projects
- Assist Business Development efforts with competitor analysis, client strategy, conducting web research, etc.
Marketing Promotions (10%):
- Participate in awards submissions activities
- Participate in HMC social media activities
- Champion social media efforts across multiple platforms
- Develop unique events/conference material/collateral material (groundbreakings/dedications.)
Professional and Community Involvement (5%):
- Actively involved in professional marketing/graphics/communications organizations
- Provide support and excellent client service to other areas of the company and all marketing staff
Other:
- May participate in the coordination of photoshoots with the project team.
The salary range for this position is $25.41 - $35.78
The actual offered salary for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidate’s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
