Position Summary
The Operating Room Assistant (OR-A) provides crucial support to surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals in the operating room. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the operating room is prepared for surgical procedures and maintaining a clean and sterile environment. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong multitasking abilities, and a commitment to patient safety. The Operating Room Assistant is responsible for environmental needs in the department, including management of blood and body fluids. Serves as a runner for time sensitive and clinically significant products such as stat labs and blood. The Operating Room Assistant is prompt in manner and ensures efficient, high-quality Operating Room turnover. All areas of work are provided to achieve and maintain top-decile results and outcomes for patient experience, quality, and patient safety.
