This is a 12-month remote opportunity, allowing you to contribute to our exciting projects from the comfort of your home.

Job Description:
Joining our team means taking a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data centers and cloud solutions. As a Data Center/Cloud Project Manager, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the transition of our Groton data center, ensuring a seamless and strategic approach. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Services, John Walshaw, you will lead key initiatives throughout 2024-2025, with a focus on:

Responsibilities:

Identification of Alternatives and Options: Explore and assess various alternatives for future computing needs, providing insightful recommendations.
Sunset and Migration Strategy: Develop and implement a robust strategy for the phased decommissioning and migration process.
Architecture and Capacity Planning: Collaborate on the design and capacity planning of our evolving data center and cloud infrastructure.
Capital and Operating Expense Planning: Work closely with the financial team to plan and optimize capital and operating expenses effectively.

Required Skills:

Financial Analyst: Demonstrate proficiency in financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Data Center Management: Possess a deep understanding of data center operations and management best practices.
Project Management: Utilize strong project management skills to drive successful project outcomes within established timelines.
Effective Communication: Present updates to major stakeholders and executive leadership with clarity and professionalism.
Data-Center Capacity Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses to ensure optimal data-center capacity planning.
Data-Center and Co-location Cost Evaluation: Evaluate costs associated with data-center and co-location services to optimize resource allocation.
Public Cloud Cost Analysis: Assess and analyze costs related to public cloud services for informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Proven experience in data center and cloud project management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
