Job Summary: Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in foot and ankle disorders to join their team of healthcare professionals in Palmdale, CA. As a Foot & Ankle Specialist at their facility, you will have the opportunity to provide expert orthopedic care to patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions affecting the lower extremities
Job Responsibilities: - Evaluate and diagnose patients with foot and ankle injuries, deformities, arthritis, fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, and other orthopedic conditions.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific condition, preferences, and functional goals.
- Perform surgical procedures to address foot and ankle conditions, including but not limited to, arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, tendon repair, joint replacement, fracture fixation, and corrective osteotomy.
- Utilize advanced surgical techniques, including minimally invasive approaches and joint preservation procedures, to optimize patient outcomes and minimize recovery time.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physical therapists, podiatrists, pain management physicians, and rehabilitation specialists, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients throughout the treatment continuum.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and postoperative care instructions to facilitate informed decision-making and successful recovery.
- Document patient encounters, surgical procedures, and treatment plans in electronic medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and clinic protocols.
- Stay current with advances in foot and ankle surgery, orthopedic technology, and evidence-based practice through continuing medical education, professional development activities, and participation in relevant conferences and seminars.
Qualifications: - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an orthopedic surgery residency program with fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery.
- Board certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
- Current state medical licensure and DEA registration.
- Strong surgical skills and experience in managing complex foot and ankle conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassion, empathy, and dedication to providing patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems preferred.
