Solo Medical Physicist
Location: Southern Oregon (35 minutes northwest of Medford)
Experience Required:
- ABR certification is required
- 3 years of medical physics experience in a clinical setting; some solo experience preferred
- MS or higher in Medical Physics
- QMP recognition by Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors
Job Description:
Join our dynamic team in Southern Oregon, where you'll serve as a solo Medical Physicist providing comprehensive care and expertise in radiation oncology. Here's what you can expect:
Department Details:
- Treats 18-35 patients per day
- Performs a wide range of duties including weekly chart checks, electron cutout measurements, VMAT QA, TLD measurements, treatment planning, and machine repair/coordination of engineers
- Conducts calibration of all equipment
- Experience with 3D EBRT, SBRT, IMRT, and VMAT
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art equipment including Elekta Infinity Linac, GE Discovery CT 590 RT, and more
Responsibilities:
- Conducts VMAT peer review of plans, software upgrades, and weekly chart rounds documentation
- Provides consultation on scientific and technical aspects of treatment planning and delivery
- Leads Quality Improvement (QI) monthly meetings and participates in monthly technical committee meetings
- Manages radiation badge program and provides technical training to therapists and dosimetrists
- Utilizes computer workstations and software tools for data analysis and documentation
- Maintains extensive sets of worksheets, scripts, policies, and procedures
