Early Childhood Educator

Pine Forest Children's Center

Location

Burlington, VT | United States

Job description

Summary

Pine Forest Children's Center (PFCC) has been providing high quality early childhood education for a diverse community of families in the South End of Burlington since 1988. We pride ourselves on our ability to partner with families to help children grow to the best of their abilities. As a teaching community we are passionate about our school and professional field. We love what we do every day and we hope you will join us.

PFCC is a multi-faceted community which values imagination, integrity, curiosity and responsibility in children and adults. We are innovative, yet with a sense of tradition and attention to the natural world. Our curriculum is emergent and play-based, allowing children to guide their own learning. We plan developmentally appropriate activities that are teacher guided and open ended, utilizing large and small groups, reflecting the best research in early childhood education. We believe in connecting children to the communities in our neighborhood and city and strive to find opportunities to partner on projects when possible.

We have an on site Food Program (CACFP) supported by an on site chef and prepared using local foods. This means that all children have access to free nutritious meals three times a day and mealtimes that are filled with conversation and inquiry. This ensures food equity and access for all children and their families. This program builds a strong foundation for lifelong healthy eating habits and helps children to remain satiated in order to meet their first hour and daily needs.

We are seeking full time early childhood educators to join our strong teaching community. These positions will support classrooms at our school and work amongst teams of teachers. The right candidate will have experience working with varying ages (birth to age 5) or a desire to gain experience working with young children as they grow and develop. Pine Forest Children?s Center is dedicated to the growth and development of the Early Childhood Education field, and we encourage a growth mindset in our educators by providing a community of support, paid professional development, and regular planning time.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated, responsible, flexible team player that loves working with young children and will possess strong communication skills. Degree in Early Childhood Education, a related field or related coursework is preferred. We are able to help you build your career as well so check out some of the options under Benefits!

Please send a resume and cover letter to Christina Goodwin.
