Job description

City Group Hospitality is seeking a Barista with a passion for hospitality and a never-ending desire to grow. City Group Hospitality is a lively culinary atmosphere and is looking for someone to work within a close-knit team at City Pork - LSU Art & Design on LSU Campus.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, is detail-oriented, customer service-motivated, and sales-minded with the ability to think outside of the box. Candidates must possess knowledge of craft beers, wines, classic cocktails, and bar-tending methodology. Create drinks consistently adhering to company recipes and processes. Individuals who apply must submit a current resume and should have the following skills and attributes:

• High School Diploma.

• Bartending, serving, or relative experience is generally preferred.

• Strong understanding of hospitality principles.

• Excellent customer service skills. 

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.

• Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.

• Decisiveness.

• Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced, stressful environment.

Job Type: Part-Time

Monday-Friday: 7:30-6PM

$10-$15 per hour

Applicants will also be expected to be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time and lift potentially heavy objects when necessary. Prior experience is preferred, but not necessary.

We are part of City Group Hospitality’s restaurants. At City Slice Pints + Pizza we hand toss Neapolitan-style craft pizzas with HUGE slices that will outsize your plate. You won’t find toppings like ours anywhere else; our pies are loaded with made-in-house meats like duck bacon, ham, andouille, and the pork you love from City Pork. The pizzas are distinguished by an imperfectly round, hand-tossed thin crust topped with one of our three homemade sauces: a traditional red sauce, a white sauce, and—as a nod to our proximity to LSU—a purple sauce, which is a spicier version of the classic red sauce.
Game days start here; whether you’re heading to Tiger Stadium after or watching an NFL game on one of our 14 (and counting) TVs in front of our extra-long bar. We serve up special menus available only on game days, with deals on pizza, our house-smoked wings, beer, and cocktails. All of our wings are tossed in your choice of made-in-house sauces.
We’re more than just the City Slice; we’re proud to have 29 taps of rotating craft and domestic beers with 8 of them dedicated to local, Louisiana breweries. Our famous house-smoked wings, dessert pizzas, and munchies like mozzarella sticks are also a part of our delicious repertoire.
