Are you an Executive Leader with an ability to build a thriving organization and a passion for our native environment and Indiana's natural history? If so, you should consider this opportunity as our client, LC Nature Park, is seeking an Executive Director/CEO.
Our Executive Director/CEO will be the:
- Driver—the one who bears responsibility for building a thriving organization
- Spokesperson—the one who communicates the vision to those in our community. Strong written and verbal communicator with impeccable follow up
- Coach—the one who develops the plan and prepares the team to accomplish objectives
- Change Agent—the one who pursues adaptive change considering the objectives and desired future. Strong entrepreneurial drive.
RESPONSIBILITIES of our Executive Director/CEO:
- Vision casting - communicating a picture of the future that motivates people to act
- Strategy Formulation – formulating intelligent, reality-sensitive ways to accomplish the vision—a strategic plan. Strategy answers the question, "How can we do this?"
- Alignment - is the ability to bring all your human resources and structures together in order to carry out your strategies and accomplish your vision
- Culture - ensuring an atmosphere of transparency, encouragement and mutual respect
- Resource Steward - ensure an Annual Budget is developed and followed with care and consideration given to the long-range plans
- Board Representation - participating in Board responsibilities as required/requested
REQUIREMENTS for our Executive Director/CEO:
- Substantial experience working in the nonprofit sector and interacting with volunteers, funders, and community members
- Ability to command the confidence and respect of stakeholders
- 7-10 years in a Strategic Non-profit Leadership role
- Experience in developing partnerships and building volunteer teams
- Experience in building revenue and increasing philanthropic support
- Must demonstrate a high level of intelligence and a desire to explore new ideas and innovative approaches to solving problem
- Undergraduate degree required
- Local of Greater Fort Wayne Area preferred
