Looking for your next challenge? North America Sort Centers (NASC) are experiencing growth and looking for a skilled, highly motivated Program Manager to join the NASC Engineering Product, Data and Simulation Team. The Sort Center network is the critical Middle-Mile solution in the Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) group, linking Fulfillment Centers to the Last Mile. The experience of our customers is dependent on our ability to efficiently execute volume flow through the middle-mile network.
A qualified candidate must be self-motivated and have demonstrated ability to manage medium to large-scale projects that are innovative or complex and at the same time delivered as quickly, accurately, and as cost effectively as possible. In addition, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, strong focus on internal customers, high intellectual curiosity to learn new concepts and methodologies and ability to adapt and thrive in this fast-paced, high change environment.
Key job responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will own strategic, tactical, cross-functional and technology projects and programs. This role requires scoping project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to leadership on status, risks, and process/product changes.
Key responsibilities include:
• Working with teams across Amazon to identify opportunities and provide data driven decision support to improve capacity and material flow optimization tools, material flow performance, simulation, and emulation of existing site performance
• Building strong partnership with operations field leaders to understand improvement opportunities.
• Analyzing and solving operational barriers with a focus on understanding root causes and driving forward solves.
• Leading project teams to plan, organize, and execute complex projects across multiple organizations and stakeholders to enable the launch of new projects and processes.
• Owning the design and development of ongoing metrics, key performance indicators, reports, dashboards to drive key business decisions.
• Providing analytical network support to improve quality and standard work results.
• Deep diving process breakdowns and providing recommendations to sustainably resolve issues.
• Collaborating with BI/Data Engineer teams to develop new and existing data sources to continually improve data quality.
• Fostering continuous improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics.
About the team
NASC Engineering’s Product and Analytics Team’s sole objective is to develop tools for under the roof simulation and optimization, supporting the needs of our internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Process Design Engineering, NASC Engineering, ACES, Finance, Safety and Operations). We develop products and tools to evaluate what-if design and operations scenarios for new and existing sort centers to understand their robustness, stability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. We conceptualize new data science solutions, using optimization and machine learning platforms, to analyze new and existing process, identify and reduce non-value added steps, and increase overall performance and rate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
