Selection Procedure: SUMMER SCHOOL SITE FACILITATOR Stratford Continuing Education Summer School 2024 GENERAL STATEMENT The program offers an array of make-up courses for students referred by their school counselors, teachers, and/or principals. The Site Facilitator will supervise the planning, staffing, implementing and assessing the Summer School Success Program for grades 7 - 12. This position reports to the Superintendent or her designee.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES - Monitor and oversee the day-to-day operation of the summer school program at the assigned sites.
- Develop and distribute summer school information.
- Develop and implement timelines and procedures for registration and course assignments.
- Manage student registration and class assignments.
- Oversee the selection and assignment of staff.
- Coordinate room assignments.
- Receive and transfer, summer school academic records, grades, and all other materials and supplies associated with summer school implementation.
- Work cooperatively with school staff.
- Coordinate tuition payments and waivers if applicable.
- Supervise the selection, ordering and preparation of resources used in the summer school program at the assigned sites.
- Promote positive behavior management and provide appropriate behavioral interventions.
- Work with students, parents and teachers to create a culture of high expectations and excellence, (including: regular attendance, punctuality, academic and emotional support).
- Develop incentives for students to meet standards of excellence.
- Submit a written assessment of the summer school program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - Current Connecticut Administrator Certificate (092 Endorsement).
- Successful teaching experience in grades 7 - 12.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum and program planning and development as well as curriculum/assessment development.
- Familiarity with national, state and local curriculum standards and framework.
- Demonstrated quality leadership ability through past performance.
- Service as a cooperating or mentor teacher preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs and complete required reports.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Previous administrative experience preferred.
TENTATIVE TERM The dates provided are tentative and will be adjusted based on the last day of the student school year.
- Work schedule is June 17 to August 2, 2024 at Continuing Education summer location. Hours are 7:00am to 1:00 PM Monday through Friday.
