Job description
Tallahassee Primary Care Associates is looking for a full-time HR Generalist to join our busy Human Resources Department. Qualified candidate must pass a criminal background check to include references and a drug test. Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with some occasional overtime, Monday - Friday.
I. Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resources, management of related field
- 1-3 years of generalist experience
- Years of experience may substitute for education requirement
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to articulate and communicate effectively in person, on the phone and in e-mail
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work well with others and under pressure
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or ability to meet the requirements to take the exam
- Participation in the local Society for Human Resource Management Chapter or other human resource management activities
II. Essential Functions of Position
A. Record Keeping
- Ensure maintenance of personnel records, medical files and other employment related information
- Ensure I-9 forms are accurately completed
- Maintains all acknowledgements of policies and procedures
- Assist with Family Medical Leave tracking
- Ensure personnel records are in compliance with labor laws and regulations
- Conducts daily filing/scanning and record keeping of various documents
- Conduct various audits to ensure compliance and accuracy of personnel information, benefit information, payroll information, etc.
B. Staffing
- Review applications received through the Applicant Tracking System
- Conduct phone screens on qualified candidates for job openings
- Update ATS with phone screen notes, interview notes and status of applications
- Conduct on-boarding process for all new employees
- Advertise, recruit, review applications and interview candidates for job openings
- Follow all applicable HR laws
- Analyze departmental and office overtime to assist Human Resources Manager with staffing management
- Review and revise job descriptions annually
- Assist the Human Resources Manager with reports
- Observe interviews and meetings conducted by the Human Resources Manager
C. Employee Relations
- Assist the Human Resources Manager and the managers with employee relations issues
- Assist managers with performance evaluations
- Assist managers with the disciplinary process, documentation, conflict resolution and employee conduct
- Conduct exit interviews with departing employees
- Assist in investigations with the Human Resources Manager
D. Training
- Facilitate new hire orientation
- Develop and update TPCA and regulatory training initiatives
- Assist in training the HR Assistant
