This role is full time, on-site at our Woburn (Boston) facility.

Job Overview:

The Senior Animal Technician will work as part of a team in a lab environment to complete client driven projects and ensure daily husbandry, care, and maintenance for colonies of research rodents. You will independently be managing designated studies, preparing IACUC documents, performing animal related procedures and communicating with sponsors.

In addition:

• Perform injections, dosing, tissue collection, blood collection, and other animal related procedures in addition to maintaining a rodent breeding program when needed.
• Ensure maintenance for colonies of research rodents (mice, rats, guinea pigs) is provided according to Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), IACUC guidelines and PHS Policy
• Maintain electronic database for rodent inventories and facilities supplies
• Assist with SOPs and protocols for the IACUC committee and serve on the committee as an affiliated member

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking individuals who demonstrate a passion for science who are detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work as part of a team or individually with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5+ years relevant experience with a High School diploma or Associates Degree
• Must be proficient with test article administration via: Oral (PO), Intravenous (IV), Subcutaneous (SC), Intramuscular (IM), Intraperitoneal (IP), Intradermal (ID), Retro-Orbital (RO), or Topical Administration
• Must be able to bleed mice and rats using the following methods: tail vein, lateral saphenous vein, facial vein, vascular catheter, retro-orbital vein and cardiac puncture
• ALAT certification preferred
