Position Summary:
The Drama and Film Instructor position is a full-time faculty position that includes instruction, office hours and professional contributions to the college community to create an innovative and engaging learning environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as lead faculty (coordinating curriculum and assessment; onboarding and training part-time faculty) and have the ability to teach all  DRA and  FLM courses at  WCC .
• Teach a diverse student body in daytime, evening, and if needed weekend classes in person; develop and teach online courses as needed.
• Syllabus writing, textbook selection, and curriculum planning and development
• Participate in program level learning assessment, which includes helping articulate learning outcomes, choosing and administering measures, collecting and submitting relevant data, evaluating student performance, and suggesting changes to improve student learning.
• Plan cocurricular drama activities, such as student showcases
• Work with other faculty and administrators in program marketing.
• Provide leadership in identifying trends and working with other faculty to develop new curriculum to address these trends.
• Manage relationships with key transfer institutions and recommend strategies to maintain program articulation and activities/initiatives that encourage student completion.
• Participate in department, division, and general faculty meetings, applicable college committee activities, and other forms of college service.
• Remain current in academic or program discipline, including attending professional conferences, and maintaining licensure, certification, or continuing education requirements where appropriate.
• Participate in college professional development activities and stay current in technological or pedagogical advances that promote student learning.
• Other duties as assigned.

Hours/Schedule:
• Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours during fall and winter semester
• On campus presence at least four days per week during the academic year
• Being a professional faculty member at Washtenaw Community College is a year-round responsibility which includes curriculum development, professional improvement and development, and other professional responsibilities.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Master’s degree in Drama or Theatre Arts with the qualifications to teach film.
• Two years teaching experience, preferably at the community college level.
• Demonstrated professional experience in drama/theatre production.
