Quarry Scale Office Attendant

Have you wanted to be closer to the action in a limestone quarry? Here is your opportunity. Holtmeier Construction is looking for someone to run our quarry scale office at the Stoffel Quarry. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of the aggregate industry and/or trucking and hauling. Hours 7am – 5pm, Monday through Friday

Seasonal - 10 to 11 months per year

$18 - $25 per hour depending on experience

Located at Stoffel Quarry, 3 rd Avenue, Mankato, MN

Duties

Monitor activity in the quarry

Monitor the scale kiosk

Assist truck drivers with questions

Setup new customers in scale application

Collect payment and customer account information

Become familiar with aggregate material types

Become familiar with recommended uses of the various materials to answer customer questions

Handle sales calls for material

Coordinate customer requests for material with Quarry Manager

Coordinate with main office for customer questions, quotes, payments, scale software maintenance

Work with Quarry Manager to track and monitor material quantities for inventory reporting

Learn and become proficient with ValSoft/AWS scale software

Work with Excel for tracking and reporting

Other duties as may be assigned by Quarry Manager or Office Manger

Requirements

Willingness to learn and work with computer software programs and applications

Willingness to learn or expand knowledge about the aggregate industry and our business

Ability to work alone

Strong communication skills for working with customers, truck drivers, quarry operators, and office staff

Responsible and able to show up to work on time

Ability to climb a ladder and lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to sit for long periods of time in an office chair

The quarry office is heated and air conditioned for comfort with a Fridge and Microwave readily available. The number of trucks crossing the scale varies from day to day resulting in down time so the applicant needs to be able to work alone and remain motivated.
