Job description
We currently have an exciting opportunity at Northern Star (Pogo) LLC for an experienced and motivated Human Resources Advisor - Employee Relations. Work location will be Pogo Mine, a remote site approximately 3 hours' drive from Fairbanks via Company-provided transportation. The schedule will be 15 day on/13 days off.
What is the role?
The Human Resources Advisor reports to the Human Resources Manager, and the primary role is to actively support the operation of the business by providing effective and professional HR services and advice to employees and management. Human Resources activities to be performed include employee relations, leadership training, recruitment, and compliance management within the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities:
Perform employee relations tasks including thorough investigations and report writing. Consult with department managers on consequences.
Offer HR Support and guidance to site personnel.
Assist in accurate completion of employment documents and perform personnel data entry.
Collect and analyze data from market-based compensation surveys; review, evaluate and implement compensation changes.
Assist with end-to-end recruitment, in line with site requirements and budgeting.
Work efficiently with minimal supervision to organize, prioritize and complete tasks.
Work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Research and interpret complex rules and regulations, providing sound recommendations to management.
Analyze situations and solve complex problems and create innovative solutions to problems when necessary.
Write reports and correspondence and create and maintain files and databases.
Be a self-starter: identify and initiate work that needs to be done without being prompted by others.
Experience & Competencies :
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent training and experience required .
Minimum five years of relevant HR experience, including conducting investigations and other employee relations responsibilities.
Preferred certifications: PHR/SPHR
Advanced critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Expert level of written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated computer skills in Windows environment with significant experience in the MS Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of complex Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and software; ADP, Adobe DC & SharePoint experience preferred.
Working knowledge of all applicable US and Alaska HR laws, rules, and regulations, e.g. COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, ACA and FLSA.
Working knowledge of payroll, recruitment, employee relations and compensation as well as the auditing process.
Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
Valid driver's license required.
Must pass a post-offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.
