Job description
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of the HR Systems Team, this position will function as the individual contributor level in the HR Systems group. As a key member of the Systems Team, this role will play an integral part in performing detailed analysis for Benefits-specific Audit and providing excellent client-facing support. This includes, but is not limited to, working on benefits and pension eligibility of employees, their historical records and analysis of benefits administration data. This role will closely partner with the Benefits team, HR Systems team, and management.
The role will assess benefits programs and pension related data and provide insight on Benefits Audit. This position will be expected to function independently with little to no oversight and own decisions and processes that have an organization-wide impact. They will represent the organization both internally and externally as an expert in Benefits Systems Data and will be expected to act as a consultant to management by providing strategic approaches to Benefits Audit design and implementation.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Document the step-by-step procedures involved in the comparison of data fields between the pension system and HRIS legacy system for active and inactive pension and Pension Review Board (PRB) accounts.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the pension system and HRIS legacy system.
- Identify integration points for automating data transfer and comparison between the systems.
- Design a mechanism that can efficiently compare, categorize, and sort data fields for active and inactive pension and PRB accounts.
- Implement error detection mechanisms to flag potential discrepancies.
- Ensure that the mechanisms align with the organization's internal business processes and audit requirements / standards (as well as external audit requirements such as the KPMG audit).
- Build validation rules to confirm the accuracy and reliability of benefits data.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 12 or more years of experience in benefits related systems with extensive experience as a consultant and/or subject matter expert to management.
- Extensive experience communicating benefits programs to management and employees.
- Experience providing benefits and pension data analysis and providing extensive support for Benefits Audit.
- Experience leading complex projects.
- Experience directing work of others.
- Experience with benefits and retirement program implementation and administration.
