Position Type: Full-time/salaried
Position Overview:
VCC is looking for a uniquely gifted leader who has a heart to help children discover and grow in a love relationship with Jesus. VCC provides the following benefits for the employee: health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as paid personal time off.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting, training, coaching, and caring for volunteer teams in children’s ministry.
Building creative catalytic events aimed at helping children come to know Jesus.
Communicating with parents and providing parental support and counsel.
Working with part-time specialists focused on caring for children with special needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education:
Must be a devoted follower of Jesus.
Must have a passion for children’s spiritual formation.
Must have an understanding of and/or experience with an experiential, Montessori or Godly Play approach to child development.
Familiarity with the work of Sofia Cavalletti, Catherine Stonehouse, and Lacy Finn Borgo is preferred.
Must have experience recruiting, managing, and training large volunteer teams.
Experience recruiting and training parents with tools to cultivate a deep relationship with God at home is preferred.
Some experience in event coordinating is helpful.
Some experience managing a budget is helpful.
A Children’s Spiritual Director would be ideal (but not required).
An undergrad degree in early childhood development is preferred.
