Overview We are seeking an intern to work with our GD-OTS headquarters Supply Chain Compliance team in St. Petersburg, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for completing assigned projects under the direction of Compliance leadership and with assistance from other Supply Chain personnel. This is an opportunity to work with a specialized Supply Chain team at the headquarters of a large organization, developing and amending processes and policies that impact the entire procurement organization across more than 2 dozen operating sites.
This internship is in-person at our St. Petersburg, FL location from May 20th to August 8th, 2024.
Responsibilities - Assist and provide support to the headquarters (Home Office) Supply Chain Compliance leadership team and Procurement department.
- Perform data analytics to aid in the improvement of processes and/or development of corrective actions. Provide Supply Chain Compliance leadership team with a review of the analytics as well as make recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the development of compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, memos, and manuals.
- Assist in developing organization-wide communications to Supply Chain staff as well as developing training presentations.
- Perform detailed analysis of the ERP Vendor Master File and perform corrective actions to ensure compliance and accuracy. Engage with the organization operating sites to ensure that the Vendor Master File is accurate and complete.
- Research the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other federal government regulations to assist in the development of or amendments to policies, processes, and training.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues and implement corrective action plans to prevent future non-compliance.
- Engage with IT Cyber Operations and Supply Chain Management across the organization to improve supply base cybersecurity compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in supply chain management or similar field from an accredited college/university.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well with a diverse employee population.
- Strong computer skills. Having advanced Microsoft Excel skills is beneficial for this position.
