Job description

We are looking for a Communications & Public Relations Intern to join our team to support Intrepid Corporate / People Operations Team. The Intern will gain real-world experience supporting ongoing communications efforts (both internal and external) by assisting with marketing campaigns, web content strategy, media relations, tradeshow support, and other strategic marketing materials.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Enhance writing and editing skills by assisting with creating communications materials including social media posts, Intranet page edits, external website edits, press releases, and other key messaging.
• Develop and distribute new, engaging internal corporate giveback newsletter to be distributed quarterly.
• Provide tradeshow support to include strategic planning, data collection, logistics for exhibits, and collateral design.
• Play a key role in the enhancement and revamping of corporate website to include content development, visual design and user experience input, and overall project management.
• Track and analyze website performance through Google Analytics Assist with media relations.
• Provide assistance with developing public relations corporate training modules.
• Coordinate with and assist People Ops team on employee events.
• Collaborate with team on new ideas, directions, and tools for marketing and communications.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Enrolled in a degree program. Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or other related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to manage concurrent projects Attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X).

You will be highly desirable if you have:

• 1-2 years of experience preferred but not necessary.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products, WordPress, Canva, and Hootsuite.
• Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications.

Work Location: Hybrid – Intern will spend some days in-office and have the flexibility to complete remaining hours remotely.
Hours: 29 hours or less per week
Duration: Between 2-4 semesters, depending on graduation date
Compensation: $17.20 per hour and includes a 401k contribution.
