We operate with a network of over 150 therapists throughout Michigan. W ere thrilled to invite an exceptional Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in a n exceptional subacute care facility. Our mission of this program is to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients through compassionate and effective rehabilitation services.
Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment: Assist in conducting initial patient assessments by gathering information on the patients medical history and current physical condition.
Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the physical therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the patients needs and goals.
Implementation of Treatment: Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other interventions as prescribed by the physical therapist.
Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess and document patient progress during treatment sessions, reporting findings to the supervising physical therapist.
Educating Patients: Instruct patients and their families on prescribed exercises, proper body mechanics, and techniques to improve mobility and prevent further injuries.
Assistive Devices: Teach patients how to use assistive devices such as crutches, canes, and walkers, and ensure proper fit and usage.
Modalities: Administer various physical therapy modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as part of the treatment plan.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
Communication: Communicate regularly with the physical therapist and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on patient progress and discuss any necessary modifications to the treatment plan.
Supportive Care: Provide emotional support to patients as they navigate the challenges of rehabilitation and recovery.
Safety Measures: Ensure a safe environment for therapy sessions, including proper use of equipment and adherence to infection control protocols.
Continuing Education: Stay current with advances in physical therapy techniques and attend workshops or courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
