CVICU RN travel nursing job. CVICU nurses are responsible for administering care to acutely ill patients who are recovering from open heart surgery, CABC, AAA repairs, and other types of cardiovascular surgery. These nurses must excel at using their skills in a fast-paced setting with some of the highest-acuity patients. CVICU nurse record patient medical histories, perform diagnostic tests, and analyze the results to provide safe, quality, compassionate care. One of the most important functions of a CVICU nurse is the counseling of patients regarding postoperative nutrition, diet, exercise, and home-care after heart surgery. Position requirements: Active RN license in good standing, BLS, ACLS, recent CVICU experience in a hospital setting.
