Position Summary
Designs, develops, modifies, configures, debugs and evaluates application programs for functional business areas. Analyzes existing applications and systems and formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, logical database design, performs coding and tests/debugs programs. Consults with business analysts and architects to understand, anticipate, and meet current and future business needs. Modifies and configures applications/systems as specified in the requirements and/or technical design document. Prepares and obtains approval of system and development documentation.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA based on business needs.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $109,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $175,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Work Scope Understands business requirements and applies them to complex programming and analysis. Follows and collaborates on existing Application Development Frameworks and Coding Standards Solid understanding of IT Delivery Methodology, compliance processes and impact to client projects. Applies professional technical concepts of particular field, procedures, and techniques.
- The incumbent independently plans work to meet assigned general objectives; progress is reviewed upon completion and solutions may provide an opportunity for creative/non-standard approaches.
- Problem Solving: Leads complex system modifications. Assignments are based on extensive knowledge of concepts, principles or practices in a specific discipline, field or area of expertise, and require seasoned, experienced-based judgment in applying and adapting techniques. Resolves application programming analysis problems of broad scope within procedural guidelines. May seek assistance from the supervisor or more skilled programmers/analysts on unusual or especially complex problems that cross multiple functional/technology areas.
- Internal/External Contact: May attend client meetings on behalf of team or manager. Collaborates with Project Manager on complex project timelines, identifying critical path, resource assignments, risks, and dependencies representative.
- Freedom of Action: Oversee, mentor, and provide guidance to less experienced programmer-analysts
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in programming analysis, 5 years
Desired:
- Java application programming
- JSP Web Page development
- JDeveloper development platform
- Oracle Database development and turning (Query, Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, Views, create Tables and indexes, etc.)
- Windows Server, Linux/Unix/AIX Operating Systems usage
- Web Front-end development and troubleshooting skills
- Apache/Tomcat/Web Logic servers’ operations and configurations
- Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting (IP Address, Firewall, IP Routing, Load Balancer, etc.)
- Able to do 24 x 7 support to applications and end-users (on rotation)
- Experience with Microsoft .Net and Perl programming languages
- Experience with SQL Database development
- Experience with AWS/MuleSoft/Cloud development in applications and/or APIs
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and related products (Power Automate, Dynamics, Power BI, Power Apps, etc.)
