POSITION : Marion Health Family Medicine Residency Faculty

OVERVIEW :

Marion Health, formerly Marion General Health (MGH), is an award winning, independent, not-for-profit hospital providing compassionate and comprehensive care to rural Grant County and the surrounding area in northcentral Indiana. As a faculty member in the newly certified rural Family Medicine Residency Program (), you'll play a pivotal role in training and developing future family medicine practitioners. You will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the education, mentorship, and professional growth of residents. RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Clinical Teaching:
  2. Provide direct patient care while serving as a role model for residents in clinical settings.
  3. Supervise and guide residents during patient encounters, teaching best practices in family medicine.
  4. Conduct bedside teaching, emphasizing evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care.
  5. Precepting Faculty 20% Teaching and 80% clinical.
  6. Core Faculty 50% Teaching and 50% clinical.
  7. Clinical is defined as seeing patients in the attending practice.
  1. Didactic Education:
    • Develop and deliver lectures, workshops, and case-based discussions on various topics in family medicine.
    • Facilitate small group discussions, journal clubs, and other educational activities.
    • Create and update curriculum materials to ensure relevance and compliance with accreditation standards.
  1. Mentorship and Advising:
    • Serve as an advisor and mentor to residents, offering guidance on career development, research, and personal growth.
    • Support residents in their scholarly activities, including research projects and presentations.
    • Provide feedback and evaluations to residents to aid in their professional development.

  1. Quality Improvement and Research:
    • Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the residency program and clinical practice.
    • Participate in scholarly activities, research projects, and contribute to academic publications.

  1. Administrative Duties:
    • Participate in residency program meetings, committees, and administrative responsibilities.
    • Assist in evaluating and selecting candidates for the residency program.
