Position Summary:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Master of Accounting (MAC) Program at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School is a top-ranked graduate program that focuses on developing well-rounded leaders who are prepared to enter the accounting industry when their studies are complete. The MAC Program utilizes both on-campus and online formats to deliver a UNC-Chapel Hill education to students all over the world.

The Senior Associate Director of Academics if responsible for overseeing the execution of all academic processes in the Master of Accounting program. This includes but is not limited to faculty support, student academic support, course development, term section planning, course registration, academic ineligibility, and educational technology. They are responsible for overseeing the Academic Eligibility process and referrals to the Honor Court for matters of academic integrity. The Senior Associate Director is supervised by the Director of Academics & Operations. Through data, assessment, and best practices, the Senior Associate Director advises the Director of Academics and Operations, Associate Dean, and Managing Director on strategic issues relating to the program’s academic life. They serve as an ex officio member of the Academic Eligibility Committee, Program Committee, and Curriculum Committee.

This position reports to the MAC Director of Academics & Operations. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities related to consulting or developing course content, curriculum, instructional technique/technology, distance education design, development or implementation, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

The successful candidate will have strong proficiency in technology tools and data management processes, be efficient navigating both independent and team-based work environments, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills while relating well to top educators. Candidates possess the ability to evaluate the quality of courses and course delivery. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and high levels of organization. The ability to manage multiple projects across a variety of systems is essential. Successful candidates must be able to work with and relate to a diverse set of constituents including faculty, staff, students, and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Five or more years of experience in academic administration within a degree granting program, with preference toward business education, is strongly preferred.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities:

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
